We are really fortunate that the ice was out in our area at the end of April, giving us the opportunity to go for a very early May canoe trip. This was our first time getting out this early in our canoe, so to say that I was excited was an understatement!

Not having a campsite booked for the weekend after the long weekend in July was a little upsetting. There were originally other plans which meant we were not going to be able to camp, but those plans fell through. Since we had no camping was booked, we decided to make a day trip to Algonquin Provincial Park to do some canoeing.
I have referenced the Paddle in the Park contest a couple of time in prior posts, but I feel that this story really does need to be shared. (Don’t worry, I have more to share later)…
