It seems as though Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park is the theme for our adventures the last few posts. This park is conveniently close to us and provides some great overnight and day paddling adventures. This adventure took us to a different area of the park with another set of family friends.

When you get a weekend with beautiful weather and Ontario Parks opens their parks for day use it’s time to plan a paddling adventure! So with a little planning we decided to go to Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park and paddle a couple of lakes with another family – while making sure we still stayed save and kept our distance of course!

Camping in the backyard seems to be a rising trend at the moment – probably since it’s the only place we’re allowed to setup a tent! So, earlier this month I decided that since I really wanted to get out camping, I would just pitch my tent in my backyard and have a backyard campout.

Once again we headed outdoors to hike at one of the local conservation areas. It has been a while since we visited this particular trail, so we were happy that it was still open for walking. The sun was shining and we are always looking to maximize our outdoor time on the weekends as Dan still works during the week.
